Hand Rejuvenation - Tupelo, MS Specialist – Dr. Alan Pritchard

Your face isn't the only area of your body that can give away your age. Over time, sun damage and volume loss may also affect your hands, leaving them veiny, withered and peppered with age spots. Hand rejuvenation procedures are designed to correct these issues and improve the skin tone and texture on your hands.

Who Should Consider Hand Rejuvenation?

Dr. Pritchard recommends hand rejuvenation to patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their hands and wish to address any of the following cosmetic concerns affecting the hands:

  • Loose, wrinkled skin
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Protruding veins
  • Volume loss

Hand Rejuvenation with Radiesse

One of the most popular ways to rejuvenate and restore a youthful appearance to the hands is with Radiesse treatment. Radiesse is an injectable filler made of calcium hydroxyapatite, a naturally-occuring substance found in bones, that provides long-lasting volume restoration to mask the appearance of tendons and veins that can make your hands look aged.

Hand rejuvenation with Radiesse typically lasts at least 12-18 months and can be combined with other treatments to further improve the look of your hands.

Other Hand Rejuvenation Procedures

Laser skin resurfacing and vein treatment may also be recommended for hand rejuvenation in addition to volume restoration with Radiesse. Treating the skin on your hands with a Sciton laser procedure can fade brown spots and uneven pigmentation, tighten crepey, wrinkled skin and smooth away texture irregularities.

Vein treatment can provide permanent reduction of protruding veins on the hands by redirecting blood flow to healthier veins and collapsing unsightly or damaged veins. Treatment options to reduce the appearance of hand veins include laser vein treatment (EVLT) or sclerotherapy. Both procedures are effective for hand rejuvenation, and they may even be combined to provide optimal results in some cases.
