Radiesse® - Tupelo, MS Specialist – Dr. Alan Pritchard

Radiesse-iconRadiesse® is one of the only long-lasting wrinkle fillers on the market that can treat facial wrinkles and folds, as well as enhance the soft tissues of the cheeks, nose and chin. Hand rejuvenation with Radiesse injections is also a great way to restore youthful volume to withered, veiny hands.

Made of a water-based gel that surrounds microspheres of natural substance found in bones called calcium hydroxylapatite, Radiesse is among the most popular injectable fillers because it is biocompatible, durable and easy to use.

Are Radiesse Injections Right for You?

Radiesse is FDA approved for treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (parentheses) that run along each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. In addition, Radiesse is routinely used off-label to augment sunken cheeks or a weak chin, correct superficial contour irregularities in the nose, fill depressed acne scars and rejuvenate aged hands. Ask Dr. Pritchard about Radiesse injections if you experience any of these issues and desire a non-surgical treatment that offers long-lasting results.

Radiesse Treatment

After cleansing the treatment area, Dr. Pritchard injects Radiesse beneath the skin at a specific depth and massages the product to smooth it out and achieve optimal correction. When Radiesse combines with your tissue, it acts like a scaffolding for new collagen. Through its natural processes, your body will slowly metabolize and absorb the Radiesse product, and you will need repeat treatments once results have faded.

Radiesse Side Effects

Radiesse results last about one year on average, with most patients returning for another treatment after about 12-18 months. Although side effects are uncommon, patients occasionally experience mild irritation, redness, swelling, itching, discoloration or tenderness at injection sites immediately following treatment. These temporary Radiesse side effects usually clear up within a few days and can often be avoided by following post-treatment care instructions.

Dr. Pritchard will discuss your options for reducing wrinkles and /or lip augmentation. He will help you understand the pros and cons of each available treatment, enabling you to make your own decision.

Additional procedures that may enhance the results of Radiesse include Brow Lift, Eyelid Lift, Facelift, Botox®, or Facial Fat Injections.
